Where to send titles, MCOs and registration paperwork

Vehicle title and registration work for the LLCs we represent is handled by the MontanaTags.com Processing Center in Bozeman. Nothing vehicle-related should be sent to the Kalispell registered office.

Do not send vehicle paperwork to the Kalispell office. The registered office accepts legal notices and Secretary of State mail only. Vehicle documents delivered there are redirected to Bozeman, which adds several days to your filing.

What to include

Send originals. The State of Montana will not accept copies of titles or manufacturer’s certificates of origin.

New vehicle

Purchased from a dealer, never titled
  • Manufacturer’s Certificate of Origin (MCO)Original, assigned by the dealer to your LLC
  • Dealer bill of sale or purchase invoiceShowing the VIN, purchase price and your LLC’s name
  • Odometer statement (MV24)We send this for e‑signature
  • Lien information, if financedLender name and address

Used vehicle

Previously titled in any state
  • Original title, signed over to your LLCSeller signs as seller; do not sign in the owner section
  • Bill of saleRequired when the title does not show the price

Transfer from your name

Moving a vehicle you already own into the LLC
