Appoint us
Your LLC names Montana Tag Agent Services LLC as its registered agent on its Articles of Organization, or by filing a Statement of Change with the Secretary of State. For LLCs formed through MontanaTags.com this is done for you at formation.
We receive
Service of process, subpoenas, Secretary of State notices and other official correspondence addressed to your LLC are accepted in person at our Kalispell office and logged the day they arrive.
You're notified
Each item is scanned and emailed to the contact on file the same business day, and posted to your client dashboard. Originals are held securely and mailed to you on request.
What the registered agent does
The registered agent is the person or company the State of Montana and the courts use to reach your LLC. It is a legal requirement, not an optional service: an LLC without a registered agent can be administratively dissolved, and legal documents that cannot be served may result in a default judgment against the company.
As your registered agent we:
- Maintain a physical street address in Montana that is open during normal business hours.
- Accept service of process, legal notices and official state mail on behalf of your LLC.
- Forward every item to you promptly, with a record of when it was received and sent.
- Keep our agent listing current with the Secretary of State so your filings never bounce.
We do not act as your attorney, your accountant, or your business address for general mail. Vehicle titles, registrations and related paperwork are handled by the MontanaTags.com Processing Center in Bozeman, not by the registered office.
